There’s always something else that needs your attention
doctor’s appointments to schedule, a surprise visit from your in-laws, the endless hamper of laundry, soccer practice…And underneath it all, there’s the constant hum of anxiety about your little one. How they’re doing and feeling on an emotional and physical level.
You’re being pulled in so many directions - parenting your children, going to work, making an effort in your relationships, seeing your friends once in a while… and it’s exhausting!
Of course you are! The mental load is HEAVY and relentless.
Here’s the good news…It doesn’t have to be this exhausting! With the right support, you can find space to slow down, catch your breath, and reconnect with yourself (even in the middle of all the doing).
it’s a very patriarchal idea that mothering is something you do in isolation. you were never meant to do this alone.
“Becoming a mother leaves no woman as it found her. It unravels her and rebuilds her. It cracks her open, takes her to her edges. It’s both beautiful and brutal; often at the same time.”
Nikki McCahon
Yes, it’s normal if you are feeling…
like you don’t recognize who you are anymore and are really missing the old version of yourself or your life.
Lonely and maybe even a little disappointed that the support you were expecting from your friends and family isn’t there in the way you need it to be.
so much heart-exploding, precious joy
big grief that your birth experience didn’t go the way you hoped it would. frightened if you had a traumatic birth experience
immensely guilty about going back to work and conflicted about whether you’re ready to step back into that part of your life.
overwhelmed to the max from a lack of sleep, constant responsibility, new routines. the irritability and rage are no joke.
It can be hard, even shame-inducing, to acknowledge these feelings. Motherhood may look very different from what you imagined, and that’s okay.
motherhood is transformative
Becoming a parent changes you on every level. It isn’t just about sleepless nights or endless responsibilities - it’s a reorganization of your entire self.
In many cultures, this process is called matrescence: a profound psychological and spiritual initiation into motherhood.
But here in the West, we don’t talk about how big of a transition becoming a parent really is. Instead, mothers are often cast as superheroes, expected to be endlessly over-giving, selfless, and in control. When the reality of motherhood feels overwhelming, isolating, or disorienting, and when mother’s struggle under the myth of the perfect parent, they tend to ask “what’s wrong with me?”
Nothing is wrong with you. You are changing.
At Empower, we believe therapy during motherhood is not about quick fixes or coping tools. It’s about slowing down, listening inward, and making sense of the shifts you’re experiencing.
you deserve some you-time.
Imagine one hour a week where you get to make a hot cup of tea, get your feet up, and exhale. One hour where you get to feel your feet on solid ground and unload all that you’ve been carrying on your own.
If you’re here, you’re probably not looking for quick fixes or surface-level strategies. You’re looking for a place to be real, to feel deeply, and to get curious about the stories and roles you’ve carried—maybe for generations. I offer therapy for people who are ready to do the inner work and want to move beyond coping.
Together, we might explore:
Identity & Roles: Break free from rigid ideas of who a mother “should” be and get clear on the way you want to embody this season intentionally.
Beliefs: explore your relationship and connection to your body and unlearn the toxicity of ‘bounce-back culture” and old stories that keep you small.
Relationships & Intimacy: Navigate the shifts in your relationships and sexuality after birth.
Ancestry & Legacy: Healing intergenerational trauma and untangling inherited patterns.
values: learning to live in deeper alignment with your values, your cycles, your creative and relational needs
Cycles of Life: Honoring birth, loss, endings, and beginnings as part of the same continuum.

the world needs you whole, mama.
If you’re ready to give yourself this gift and space, then we’re here to help you take that first step.
