Carl’s People

THE COUPLED AND THE SOLO TRAVELERS NAVIGATING THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEMSELVES AND OTHERS - Whether it’s rekindling the flame, learning how to communicate with your partner, processing an ending or divorce, or preparing to date again, Carl is a relationship therapist, there to help you navigate the beauty and vulnerability of relationships.

THOSE SEEKING TO RECONNECT TO A SPIRITUAL PATH - Carl also has an interest in working alongside individuals on their own personal spiritual journeys. He has a passion for helping those who want to deepen their connection to a greater truth or faith - whatever form that may take for you. Carl is interested in naming religious trauma and beginning the healing process.

SURVIVORS OF RELIGIOUS TRAUMA - Using EMDR and various other trauma therapies, Carl is there to help you work through the many layers of trauma and faith deconstruction.

VETERANS - Sometimes the tools you used to survive on deployment aren’t as helpful when you come back home. You’re having to constantly develop new skills to cope with different environments. And this time the mission is becoming your own CO; ultimately creating more and lasting meaning in your life.

About Carl

Carl received his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in July, 2021, from Pepperdine University, with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy.

Carl’s approach to therapy is both nurturing and motivating. He uses a combination of therapeutic techniques including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to assist those struggling with anxiety, depression, insecurity, stress, fear, pain, and relational issues. He has experience working with young adults, parents, and veterans. In his work with couples, Carl utilizes Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT) to focus on goals related to communication, lack of connection. and/or lack of trust - often following a break. Carl works collaboratively with clients, meeting them where they are in their journey to find connection, flexibility, and meaning.

Carl is EMDR trained via the Institute of Creative Mindfulness. Read more about EMDR here.
